This is a political statement piece expressing the artist’s views surrounding controversial topics from the year 2020. Created in June of 2020, the seven major events the artist wanted to bring to the forefront of discussion were: the George Floyd case, the issues surrounding COVID-19, the Black Lives Matter movement, the political divide between republicans and democrats, possible anarchist uprisings, the LGBTQ+ movement, and the United State’s standings on people/individualism versus the stimulation of economy and the generation of profit. The artist included her signature looks when discussing politics in art, the “hippie” glasses and blue lips, as well as incorporated her love of classic rock by referencing both The Beatles, found in the left lens of the glasses, and Pink Floyd, found in the top left corner as well as the background. This piece was created by colored pencils on 11x14 inch sketch paper. For more content by this artist, follow @chuber_art on Instagram.
