Since the beginning, technology has driven communication. Technology today is advanced, and has altered the way we reach out to others. In the business setting, people only communicate through emails. It has been decades since written letters were a popular form of contacting people. Socially, we also communicate differently. (I.e. Social Media).
Now, we have many options for talking socially and professionally. Professionally, we can network across the globe. Because of LinkedIn, Indeed, and other platforms, we can make connections that we never could before.
A good example are literary journals. They allow anyone to get their work released and published. It also gives new writers a chance to test their skills. Technology has made submitting work and the collection/filtering process easier. The biggest change it has made is on the translation process. With the internet, we can find translators around the world working on submissions. Journals are able to accept content from other countries.
The wide variety of submissions globally creates more diversity in their journal. With more translators, journals also receive more international viewers. It's even better if the content has a translation in the original language.
Finally, it allows different ideas from other cultures be shared. The viewers gain perspective on what people from other backgrounds experience. This helps people work through situations with different perspectives in mind to make well-rounded decisions. With technology, we are able to communicate efficiently, and experience better interpersonal connections.
